Most Authentic
scientific Interpretation of Dharma
(Quoted from the Book “Basic Principles
of Dharma, Justice and Democracy” written by Krishna Ballabha
Sharma “Yogiraj”)
“Dharma” is an
original “Sanskrit Word” of very wide connotation and it has no other
equivalent substitute word in any other language of the world. For the last
about 3,000 years innumerable “So Called Scholars” with a
prejudiced mindset have been misinterpreting the concept of “Dharma” in
a very narrow sense. Consequently
the common masses are confused and have formed wrong notion of “Dharma”
and they have begun to use it as a synonym of “Religion” or “Mazahab”
or “Sampraday” associated with Modes or Methods of God Worship, Rites
and Rituals, Festivals, Dress Code, Religious Symbols, Difference in Hypocrisy
and Hypocritical Practices, Difference in Places of God Worship like Temple,
Mosque, Church, Gurudwara etc. The fact is that all of the “Great
Socio–Religious Reformers”, namely- Lord Buddha, Lord Mahavir, Jesus
Christ, Prophet Mohammad, Guru Nanak Deva, Sant Kabir Das, Martin Luther, Swamy
Dayanand Saraswati, Swamy Vivekanand etc. had vehemently opposed “Hypocrisy
and Hypocritical Practices” prevalent at their times, and they accepted
only the “Original Basic Principles of Dharma” explained in the oldest
and the most authentic Sacred Scripture - “Veda”. By
taking into account “Desha” (Locality), “Kaal” (Time, Situation
and Circumstances) and “Paatra” (Concerned Person or People), they
explained simple interpretation of “Dharma” in their local language, and
they tried to explain the concept of “Dharma” as Righteousness, Ideal
Conduct, Ideal Behavior, Love, Benevolence, Truth, Justice and Public Service
devoid of Hypocrisy. But their followers have established different “Religions”
in their names and have begun to “hate and fight” against others.
Therefore, it is essential to explain the most authentic scientific
interpretation of the “Concept of Dharma” as explained in the “Veda”.
“Dharma” has been
defined in “Atharva Veda” as follows:-
“सत्यं बृहद ॠतं उग्रं दीक्षा तपो ब्रह्म यज्ञः पृथिवीं धारयन्ति ।“--अथर्ववेद, १२.१.१
“Satyam Brihad Ritam Ugram Diksha
Tapo Brahma Yagyah Prithivim
Dharayanti”. --- Atharva Veda,
12.1.1
“Lord Krishna” has
explained “Dharma” as follows:-
“धारणाद्धर्ममित्याहुर्धर्मो
धारयते
प्रजाः
। यत्स्याद धारणसंयुक्तं
स धर्म इति निश्चयः ॥“
-- महाभारत, कर्णपर्व, ६९.५८
“Dharanaddharmamityahurdharmo
dharayate prajah.
Yatsyad dharansanyuktam sa dharma iti nishchayah.”
– Mahabharat, Karnaparva, 69.58
Therefore,
scientifically and with full authenticity, it can be rightly said that – “Satya,
Rit, Ugra, Diksha, Tapa, Brahma and Yagya” – these are the “Seven
Pillars of Dharma”, on the basis of which the entire structure of the
civilized society and state is maintained, upheld and sustained in order and
all round sustainable development of individuals and society is made possible
on this Earth. The most authentic scientific interpretation and real meaning of
the Seven Pillars of Dharma is as follows:
1.
Satya – Making proper statement by taking into account Desha (Locality),
Kaal (Time, Situations and Circumstances) and Paatra (Concerned
Person or People).
2.
Rit – Maintenance of discipline and regularly doing one’s
personal, social and professional work properly in time.
3.
Ugra – Infliction of suitable punishment with full fury to the
evil persons, criminals and terrorists, for proper maintenance of peace and law
and order in society, for forcible defense of rights and suppression of wrongs,
for Victory of Dharma in all its features.
4.
Diksha – Development of Competent Persons by providing proper
education and training of Behavioral Science, Natural Science, Social Sciences,
Yoga, Pranayam, Meditation, Arms Training, Professional and Technical Education
and Training, including development
and possession of the “Twelve Kinds” of

(II). “Dhriti” (Firm
Determination), (III). “Dama” (Self - Discipline), (IV). “Daya” (Kindness), (V). “Kshama” (Forgiveness), (VI).
“Prema” (Love), (VII). “Paropkaar” (Benevolence), (VIII). “Vinamrata” (Politeness),
(IX). “Nirbhikta” (Fearlessness), (X). “Dhairya” (Patience), Courage, Perseverance, and Universal Respect
for One and All”, for
successful handling of all kinds of situations, for leading a meaningful successful life.
5.
Tapa – Sustained continuation of one’s professional work with
full concentration of mind, without being disturbed or interrupted by the

and Social Sciences; maintenance of one’s own conduct and behavior by
adjustment with the Rules of the Nature; dedication of
one’s life in the service of humanity; working for Victory
of Dharma in all its features for doing Justice to one and all by
equal application of the Rules of Darma to all alike and by giving each
and every person what is due to him or her in accordance with the Rules of
Dharma, for Sustainable Development
of individuals, society and state by Protection of Environment; relinquishment
of the “Ten Kinds” of Manava
Durguna” (Human Vices), namely- (I). Irshya (grudge), (II). Dwesha (malice), (III). Krodha (anger), (IV). Lobha (greed), (V). Moha (delusion of mind), (VI).
Purwagrah (prejudice), (VII).
Pakshapat (bias), (VIII). Bhaya
(fear), (IX). Ghrina (hatred), (X). Ahankar (empty pride).
7.
Yagya – Prayer to the Lord Almighty or God for the welfare of
oneself, one’s family, society, state, nation and the entire world, by
performance of all of the “Four Parts” of “Yagya”, namely :–
I.
Mantrochcharan – Production of a Rhythmic Welfare Wave in the environment
by Rhythmic Recital of the Scientifically Composed Powerful Words in Metre in
praise of the “Lord Almighty or God”.
II.
Havan – Purification of the local environment by burning of the
Sacred Wood (Sandal Wood or Cedar Wood), Incense, Sesame, Ghee (Cow Butter),
Medicinal Plants etc.
III.
Bali – Dedication of some part of one’s own best food items to
the useful Animals, Birds and Ants in the name of the “Lord Almighty or God”.
For example there are most popular “Five Kinds of Bali”, namely- Gobali,
Shwanbali, Ashwabali, Kaakbali and Pipilikaadibali (Dedication
of a part of one’s food to a Cow, Dog, Horse, Crow or Birds Community, Ants
or Small Creatures, which are useful for human beings and living in
residential areas).
IV.
Daan – Dedication of the maximum possible wealth, earnings,
moveable and immoveable properties to some “Supatra Brahman” (Worthy
Brahman) and “Rishi” with highest respect, regard and honor by their
respectful invitation to the place of “Yagya” (God Worship) for
establishment and maintenance of “Rishi Ashram” i.e. Ideal Residential
Educational Institutions, Scientific Research Centers, Hospitals, Welfare
Organizations etc.
Here “Brahman” means a “Learned Person”
well versed in the knowledge and use of the arms and ammunition, behavioral
science, sacred scriptures, natural science and social science, who has dedicated his
life to the service of humanity for all round sustainable development of
society, state, nation and world community, after having relinquished and
become free from the above mentioned “Ten Kinds of Human Vices”, and who works as a Teacher,
Professor, Legal Advisor, Judge, Physician, Surgeon, Research Scholar,
Scientist, Writer, Poet, Priest and Social Worker.
Here “Rishi”
means a “Shreshth Varishth Brahman” or Senior Great Brahman working as
Heads of the Educational Institutions, Universities, Scientific Research
Centers, Hospitals, Welfare Organizations etc.
Therefore, stop “Hatred
and Fight” in the name of “Caste” and “Religion”. Follow
“Dharma” as explained in the “Veda” and make it the basis of “Methods
of God Worship, Rites and Rituals, Festivals Conduct and Behavior” for
development and welfare of your own as well as of society, state, nation and
world.
Please provide your
all possible help and cooperattion in
establishment and maintenance of an Ideal “Dharma Samaj Mandir” (Dharma
Samaj Temple) comprising of “Common Place of God Worship and Yagya for all
Communities, Comprehensive Education Center, Hospital, Orphanage, Old Age Home,
Guest House, Marriage Hall, Seminar Hall, Auditorium, Community Hall etc.”
in every Village Panchayat, Colony, Town, City, District and State in the
entire world.
